Abstract/Description: This paper analyzes civilian occupations and employment data collected by the Census Bureau in 1960, 1970, 1980, 1990, and 2000 with respect to six kinds of work (Holland’s RIASEC classification), occupation, employment, gender, occupational level, and income over five decades. Implications for further research, employment policy, and career services are offered.
