The 2000 and 2008 financial crises were a motivation for many people to leave their country. Regarding Latin Americans, a great number of people felt attracted to other countries, rather than to the traditional destinations such as the United States and the European Union exclusively. Plus, factors as the cultural change and a stricter migratory regulation caused these citizens to focus on other countries inside Latin America.

Sustainability is analyzed from the perspective of different indicators such as economic growth, unemployment, birth rate, and social perception, among others. This flow is compared to flows received by industrialized economies, and this proportion is used to determine the sustainability of this migratory flow in the short and long term.

According to Merriam-Webster dictionary, a tariff is “a schedule of duties imposed by a government on imported or in some countries exported goods.” Nowadays, tariffs are an important concept in International Business, for it involves other topics as the difference in cultures, economic trends, and international politics.
